All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rajkot in Gujarat is one amongst the several new Sai Hospital, being established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Sai Hospital, Rajkot has objectives to reduce the “gaps” in affordable tertiary health care, and to generate ‘wellness’ amongst the general population. Sai Hospital, Rajkot is under the phase six of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). AIIMS Rajkot shall be a 750 bedded hospital with multiple speciality as well as superspeciality departments. The Project cost of construction is about Rs. 1195 Crores, which includes an allocation of Rs. 185 Crores towards state-of-the art medical equipment. The Government of Gujarat has allotted about 201 Acres of Land for the project and shall take care of access roads, water facilities and provision of electricity connection.

Department Of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

Introduction

The department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine AIIMS Rajkot, was established with the dawn of year 2022. Dr. Pinky Meena, M.D (Pediatrics), PDCC (Pediatrics and Adolescent Endocrinology), was appointed in-charge of the department. The department currently runs General OPD, Pediatrics and Adolescent Endocrinology special clinic and caters to e-Sanjeevani services of MOHFW. The department is committed to excel in all three areas- patient care, medical education and research.

Vision

The department shall blossom to a full-fledged comprehensive care center for neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients. It shall aspire to be a center of excellence catering the Saurashtra region. 3) To be a leader in medical education and training of Paediatricians.

  • To become leaders for change in health outcome in pediatric population in Saurashtra neighbouring region.
  • To provide latest, high-quality tertiary care patient services in field of General Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, and Pediatrics and Adolescent Endocrinology.

  1. Clinical Services: Clinical Physiology laboratory services to be extended to the Hospital side for diagnostic NCV and EMG& Autonomic function laboratory tests
  2. Academics and teaching:  To provide integrative& skill based learning
  3. Research: To promote neurophysiology research activity and various other intramural& extramural projects. Also, to develop Sleep analysis lab, exercise physiology & yoga health clinics to use innovative skills in research.
